Once you had a taste of HiFi sound you never want to go back. I first bought the shure e2c pair, and not intentionally for it's HiFi-qualities, that was back in the day where I still road a motorbike and wanted some music on long rides. They did the job at blocking outside noise and then I discovered, using different sleeves, they were pretty good as well, I rediscovered music.
Now I bought the cheaper Apple's in-ear headphones, it's like a second coming, they perform as advertised and I have yet to experience the negative comments the product got.
I wouldn't say I'm an audiophile but if you like music, go HiFi!
It's always a chance to buy them, like the BOSE ones that are always on display in Best-Buys, the price held me back, and you have to be careful, it's not just the headphones, it's also the recording, and BOSE knows how to pick a song to advertise their stuff.
